Microsoft, the first thing that comes to mind is monopoly and not the boardgame either, for how often have we heard the two words together. However there is a lot more to Microsoft than just being a monopoly. Other than Microsoft Windows, the world renowned operating system, Microsoft also develops other software such as Microsoft Office (productivity software), Internet Explorer, Media Player, Encarta, Messenger, Silverlight and a host of software both for development and casual use. Microsoft has also diversified to the hardware market with their own lineup of mice, portable music players (Zune) and gaming consoles (XBox and XBox 360). Microsoft has also developed an operating system for mobile devices such as PDAs known as Windows Mobile.
